Taiwan Road Trip Day 10 Yilan - ShiFen - PingXi

Depart from hotel in Keelung to ShiFen and PingXi. Why both ShiFen and PingXi? Aren't both of this village very very similar? ShiFen has the waterfall, but PingXi is more famous for releasing the lanterns.

Anyway, along the way, be on look out for Golden Waterfalls before arriving at Jinguashi.



Then at Jinguashi, we should visit Japanese-styled homes, the Gold Museum and then Beishan Fifth Tunnel.



Thereatfer, head on to the old streets of JiuFen.



From the Google map below, it seems that in terms of required travelling time, taking the route-102 or route-106 is about the same (1hr 20mins). But route-106 seems closer to the sights along ShiFen. There are quite a number of sites to see.



Hence, it's best to spend a night either in ShiFen or Pingxi. This place is known to be very crowded with limited spaces. Hence, finding a minsu with a car park lot nearby is ideal.
