Banana New Paradise (香蕉新樂園) is definitely one of the most extraordinary teahouse in Taichung. It is more like a museum than a teahouse. The whole teahouse contains an entire, authentic-looking recreation of a Taiwan street from 1920 to 1940, complete with Ching Dynasty and colonial-era store fronts and hundreds of real antiques and items collected.

Miyahara is famous for its ice-cream, pearl milk tea, and excellent gifts. Of all the attractive products, ice-cream is the most distinguished. Miyahara used to be an eye clinic. Founded by Doctor Takekuma Miyahara during the Japanese Colonial Era and then later on became ruined after the war.
However, a well-known pastry industry, which makes the golden pineapple cake purchased this building and renovated it. The resurrected building is now an historical and innovative store with a stunning interior.

Yizhong Street Market 一中商圈
Yizhong Street is a shopping area and night market near many cultural and educational institutions: National Taichung First Senior High School (台中一中), National Taichung University of Science and Technology（台中科大）, National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport（國立臺灣體育運動大學）, the former National Library of Public Information（國資圖）, ChungHsing Hall（中興堂）、Taichung Park（台中公園）, etc.
There are many cram schools located in the Yizhong shopping area, the shopping area has in turn attracted more crowds and expanded rapidly in recent years. At night many food and merchandise stalls open up along YiZhong Street and it becomes a de facto night market, often getting very crowded. Along with Chungyo Department Store(中友百貨) located next to National Taichung University of Science and Technology, the entire shopping area has become one of the most popular locations for locals to shop and eat.
Many of the stores sell similar merchandise in Yizhong Shopping area, so due to the competition, the prices here are much cheaper in comparison with other areas of Taichung.
